Chapter Twelve

“You haven’t found him yet!”

Georgette had believed Daniels urgings that nothing could go wrong, but the longer that, creature ran loose, their entire operation could soon be discovered. She had to get her hands back on that body, before she lost the trust of Brighton.

“I’m on my way, don’t do anything till I get there!” she barked out before slamming the phone down. Grabbing her coat, she rushed out of her office, only to stop short when she bumped into Daniel whose expression remained relaxed. Pausing to put on her coat she spoke, “Your little pet has not only caused a scene at the airport, but they couldn’t track him and have little to no idea where he’s went.”

Daniel eyed George, his eyes flicking to the wall where there was a clock. “Are you going to lead the trapping team?”

“Yes,” George said, her eyes narrowing on his face. “I can’t leave this to the others anymore. I don’t want to have to answer to Brighton, on why we lost one of his investments. Do you?”

“No,” Daniel said easily, returning his gaze to hers. Shoving his hands into his pocket he added, “I’ll give a call to Aset, he should be put to use after all this is why we have him.”

“Yeah, you do that.” George said, before she marched away. Daniel may not fear Brighton, but she did, and she also didn’t much like the idea of being caught out by those who had already made it clear they didn’t appreciate humans in their business. If they figured out what George and her colleagues were up to, they would face a far worse situation. Shuddering, she pressed the elevator button and quickly entered, pulling her cellphone out to book a flight.
